Postpartum Doula Services in Tri-Cities, WA
Your physical and emotional well-being is my number one priority as your doula. It’s not just about the baby. YOU are important and worthy of care, just as much your beautiful newborn.
The health of the family relies on the health of the mother. We cannot be the mothers we want to be if we are not taken care of first.
You deserve to have your unique physical, emotional, and psychological needs met so that you can best take care of your new baby and build the family that you desire.
Tri Cities, WA only doula solely focused on postpartum care.
“What meant so much to me was that she also made sure to include my husband in conversations. She took the time to listen to his questions and concerns and always made him feel supported and involved, which really strengthened our confidence as a team going into parenthood and he was seen as a valuable part of this experience.”
Virtual and in-person postpartum doula support both focus on supporting your mental health, physical recovery, and emotional needs.
As your postpartum doula, I support the WHOLE family, including your partner.
What past Sand and Sage Postpartum Care clients are saying:
-
As a Registered Nurse with nine years of experience in NICU and pediatrics, I’ve worked alongside many caregivers — but Jessica’s blend of clinical awareness, emotional intelligence, and genuine heart was truly exceptional. If you’re considering postpartum support, I can’t recommend Jessica enough. She is a rare and beautiful soul, and any family would be lucky to have her by their side.

Navigating those early weeks as a new mom can be overwhelming, but having her by my side made all the difference. She was a calming presence during a time of big decisions, especially when it came to my son’s tongue tie release. She offered me clear, helpful information that gave me the confidence to make the best choices for us. On top of that, she made the most delicious meals and snacks—such a comfort when I barely had time to think about food. She even ensured I had the chance to get the rest I so desperately needed, always showing up with a thoughtful, gentle energy that made me feel truly cared for.

As a postpartum mama exclusively breastfeeding, it meant so much to have another like-minded mom to talk to after being home with baby for weeks. I love that she takes a natural approach and deeply understands the importance of nutrition in the postpartum season. I thought I was prepared for postpartum, but quickly realized I wasn’t. Finding her post on social media and having the timing work out for care felt like divine timing. I truly believe God knew exactly what I needed, even when I didn’t. Her visits were thoughtful, educational, comforting, and so incredibly appreciated.

What does in-person postpartum doula support look like?
Home Visits
What does a home visit look like?
Because I tailor in-home support to each family’s needs, this can be difficult to answer. Overall, I assess each client where they are during that time and provide the emotional and practical support that they need now. All visits begin with an emotional check-in.
And then, they could look like this:
Emotional check-in, help with breastfeeding, bring mother food and water, change out garbages, make beds, do one load of laundry, prepare meals for the week.
Or like this:
Birth story processing, provide self-care and healing education, prepare a sitz bath for mother, care for baby while she tends to her physical needs, discuss a practical plan to get better sleep.
Or this:
Provide education on normal newborn feeding and sleeping behavior, teaching mother how to use a breast pump and showing partners how to effectively bottle feed, education on infant massage.
This does not cover it all, but hopefully gives you an idea of what you can expect from how I provide postpartum care. Have something specific in mind? Just ask!
Home visits generally last 3-4 hours and can be purchased à la carte.
Hospital Visits
When booking Sand and Sage Postpartum Care’s premium package, you will get one hospital check-in. This usually happens when baby is at least 24 hours old, depending on time of delivery. During this time, I can help with birth processing and provide a latch/feeding assessment, provide medical advocacy, and help the family with a plan with the transition home.
For families who’ve hired a birth doula, I will work closely with her to maintain continuity of care for you and maintain strong medical advocacy for your entire hospital stay.
*This service can be transferred to a home visit for birth center and home births.
Hospital visits can be purchased à la carte.
